Next term we're supposedly doing Excel for Maths A. If you all want, I can hold a crash course for Excel to give you all a bit of a head start. Probably cover making graphs, table formatting and simple excel equations, as well as some various tips and tricks to easily search for data and stuff like that. May go through the basic functions of excel too if people really need it. Can be treated as a refresher and a Intro class for Excel. Probably will be about 1-2h long, don't plan to overshoot to 3h+. If you all are interested please reply and I may either do it all at 1 shot or in a group by group basis. Please reply early since I still need to prepare slides and get a venue. Oh, and if you can't make it for a certain time period, please do tell me so I can get a suitable timeslot. If you wanna know how to do something else in excel, tell me beforehand also, then I can go research first if I need. Even if there are not enough people to hold a proper class, I can do groups also. BTW Fri morn is out. For every week. I have some extra class to go for.

Leave of Absence and Temperature-taking: 22 June 2009
The Ministry of Education has given us the following instructions:

1.Leave of Absence (LOA)
In view of the escalating number of H1N1 infections including local infections, we are to implement a 7-day LOA with immediate effect for staff and students who have returned from the affected countries from 17 Jun 09.

2.List of Affected Countries
The affected countries remain as USA, Mexico, Canada, UK, Spain, Chile, Australia, Japan, Argentina, Panama, Philippines, Thailand and Dominican Republic. Please refer to the MOH website for updates.

3.Temperature Taking
When term commences on 29 Jun 09, we are required to take and record our temperature everyday for the first week, including Saturday and Sunday for staff and students who are having activities on campus.
This notice is applicable to all Full-time / Part-Time Staff, Students, Contractors and other persons who may enter our campus.

and really really really please please don't overspend...

the 'shopping- for- class- outing' event has been postponed to tuesday with repsect to the fact that the food we buy may not be as fresh if we buy on sat. A more wiser choice would be to buy items on tuesday so tt the next day is the class outing and the food is not so old.. Ok guys, I spent a grand total of 4 hours looking for new codes and tweaking them till I got this. Is it any better or are there still any bits that you don't like? If there's stuff you don't like please either SMS me or tell me on MSN then I'll work on it A.S.A.P!

Anyway, about payment, I'd rather you guys pay up during/after the class outing because only then will we know how much we spent in total and how much extra we'll have to pay on our own, so I'd rather you guys pass the money to either Haikal or Shein during or after the outing, all right?

Haikal sorry arh, cannot tell you earlier cos when I wanted to tell you you went offline then I don't wanna make your SMS limit explode. :P

Anyway, just a little note I forgot to mention earlier, class outing finances DO NOT INCLUDE THE RENTAL OF BICYCLES FOR YOUR OWN RIDING AT EAST COAST PARK OR ANY EXTRA THINGS YOU BUY FOR YOURSELF. So don't anyhow claim hor, wait we pay extra for nothing.

And you guys are gonna kill me for this but... the $150 is without the forward module students' cash. I have no idea how many forward module students there are in our class but we'll just keep the budget at $150 so that we don't overspend and have to fork out our own money all right? If anyone happens to know the exact number of forward module students please tell me so that the walking Mathcad here can recalculate everything.

Right, final thing: Mr Maurice Ling helped us to book the BBQ pit for Wednesday so please be extra nice to him during class outing on Wednesday! Yes, he's following us because he needs to be there to make sure none of us dies during the outing so if up till now you still haven't told your parents about the class outing, tell them there'll be an adult there to supervise us. Well, that's in case they're worried for your safety lar.

OMG CLASS OUTING!!!

... Ok spaz moment over. The real reason why I'm posting is cos of CLASS OUTING! It's official, details are as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 17 June 2009

Time: 11.00 a.m.

Place: East Coast Park. (Meet at Bedok MRT first! If any violent objections make yourself heard at the tagboard :P)

What's happening: Picnic and BBQ. I'll be borrowing volleyballs and whatnot from the CLS club when it's closer to the outing date so we can play beach volleyball and whatnot. And of course the girls can suntan but no way am I showing my flabby white stomach to the whole of East Coast Park...

Attire: Shirt, shorts and flip flops. Wear swimsuits under your clothes if you don't want your underwear to get wet. No white shirts for the ladies please! Cos knowing the guys we'll be throwing each other into the sea sooner or later...

What to bring: YOURSELF! SUNBLOCK, food (if you're bringing any), towel, extra clothes (INCLUDING UNDERWEAR) to change, soap, shampoo and other bathroom essentials. If anyone's got portable speakers with a 1/4 inch jack it'd be great too, cos can plug into my phone for music :D

Soooo... what's a picnic and BBQ without food right? There's gonna be a day set aside just for FOOD SHOPPING for the class outing, those who can make it just go. Details are as follows:

Time: 1.00 p.m.

Drinks (100 Plus, 7 Up, Green Tea, and all that jazz...)
Fishballs
Hotdogs

Curry puff/ samosas/ spring rolls

I'll be baking chocolate chip cookies for the class! :D

If anyone's not going or has anymore suggestions, either say so on the tagboard or SMS/ MSN instant message me. Get my number/email address from someone else if you don't have it cos I'm not putting my number or email address here :P

A few rules and regulations when posting on the class blog:
1) PLEASE LEAVE YOUR NAME EITHER IN THE TITLE OF THE POST OR AT THE END OF THE POST! So that we know who posted what. :D
